Mission Statement
At Stand in the Gap, we are a Christ-centered nonprofit committed to guiding youth into a deeper relationship with Jesus Christ. We exist to stand in the gap through the Word of God, calling this generation to repentance, forgiveness, and renewal. Our mission is to intercede, disciple, and walk alongside young people as they discover their God-given identity and purpose.
We believe transformation begins with truth. Through Bible study, prayer, baptism, and open conversations, we create a safe space where youth can be real, ask questions, and receive biblical guidance for the challenges they face.
Our outreach extends beyond the four walls. Through missions, outreach and transformative programs, we provide young people with the tools to grow spiritually, emotionally, and personally. Raising up a generation to serve others and stand unashamed of the Gospel.
We stand alongside the Church serving as a bridge between faith and daily life, equipping the next generation to walk boldly in their God-given calling.
Founder’s Story
Amanda is a born again believer of Jesus Christ, mother of four and first time grandma! Her life forever changed (at the age of 20) when Jesus met her at her well. That is when she encountered true authentic love from her savior Jesus Christ. It was an unforgettable experience which led her to the relationship and unshakable foundation she stands on today.
In 2012 Amanda had a deep passion to stand in the gap for single mothers and their children. She believes that if there is a need it should be taken care of. During that time, the Holy Spirit spoke to her and gave her the name Stand in the Gap. Out of obedience she started a non-profit organization where she provided clothing and toiletries to single mothers and children for 9 years.
During Covid, because of restrictions, Amanda took a break and used that time to pray and wait to hear what the Lord was requiring of Stand in the Gap. There were a few times in between, she started other missions and it wasn’t working out.
In 2023, Amanda obtained an Empower-One Certificate issued by the Metropolitan Districts of the C&MA that equipped women for effective ministry. In addition, completed a 9 month foundations programs that prepared men and women on discipleship. She continues to have a deep desire for the Word of God and wants to grow and learn so that she can be used in ministry.
Amanda believes there is purpose in pain and victory in Jesus name. Having overcome many challenges, she is an overcomer by her testimony and believes God used those life lessons to shape the person she is today.
Stand in the Gap is a safe and welcoming place where youth and families come together to grow in faith and experience an intimate relationship with Jesus Christ. It’s a space where young men and women are encouraged, equipped, and empowered through the living Word of God—a Word that is powerful, alive, and life-changing.
Amanda is passionate about engaging with those who are hungry and thirsty for the Gospel. She believes that through the truth of Jesus Christ, not only can our own lives be transformed, but we can also impact the lives of others. The youth are the heartbeat of the next generation, and by walking in His truth and sharing His love, we can shine light into a world that desperately needs it.
